Who Started Christmas Anyway?   A woman who was out Christmas shopping with her two children. After hours of hearing both her children asking for everything they saw on those many shelves, she finally made it to the elevator with her two kids. Finally the elevator doors opened and there was already a crowd in the car. She pushed her way into the car and dragged her two kids in with her and all the bags of stuff.

When the doors closed she couldn’t take it anymore and howled, “Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be found, strung up and shot.” From the back of the car everyone heard a quiet calm voice respond, “Don’t worry we already crucified Him.” For the rest of the trip down the elevator it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.

O dear people, ponder this illustration, ponder what is happening to Christmas. Christ is almost completely left out. It is now a holiday, not a HOLYday. Ponder what is happening to Jesus Christ in the whole world. We are about to see freedom FROM religion come not the freedom OF religion as we have it now. Wake up world! – copied

“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.” Galatians 4:4. Jesus Christ came in the fullness of time. He came when Rome dominated the known world with its Pax Romana (peace) making travel safer and a common language (Greek) made sharing information easier. He came when the practice of crucifixion, hitherto unknown in Israel, but prophesied, 1,000 years earlier, in Psalm 22, was the Roman capital punishment. He came when the Law had been shown to be “our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith” (Galatians 3:24). He came when everything was ready.

And just as sure as He came the first time, yes, the Lord Jesus Christ is coming again! He said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2-3. Think about Christmas again for there are far more Bible prophecies about the Return (2nd Coming) of Jesus Christ than Christmas time (the 1st Coming).

The Lord Jesus will return when it is the right time, when everything is ready. One big reason He hasn’t returned yet is because, “The Lord is …. not willing that any should perish (go to Hell) but that all should come to repentance (be saved from their sin by Him)”. 2 Peter 3:9. He wants you to get saved once and for all and live for Him the rest of your days. Of course, if you do that you’ll have peace, joy, THE reason for living and genuine contentment as you walk day by day with the Lord Jesus Christ! What a way to live!
