Our Christmas play the “INN-SIDE STORY” went great. My wife, Alison, wrote the play, bought material and sewed most of the 1st century costumes, searched for and gathered the props, then did most of the directing. She did a marvelous job! We had a great cast composed of whole families, couples, teens, and singles. There was certainly something for all ages.
The whole cast did a great job in their parts so you were caught up in how it may have been that day and night 2010 years ago when the eternal Word, Jesus Christ, Son of God, left Heaven to become flesh.
Think of it, Jehovah God becoming man, veiling His Deity but never voiding it. “God was manifest in the flesh” 1 Timothy 3:16. “Forasmuch then as the children (humans) are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same..” The part that Jesus Christ did NOT take was mankind’s blood, for it was contaminated with man’s sin nature through the first man, our gr-r-r-e-e-e-a-a-at grandfather Adam. See Romans 5:12. What God DID take was a body that was prepared and formed in the womb of the virgin Mary; she being the Father’s chosen channel for the incarnation. “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee: therefore that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” Luke 1:35 But even that body was not tainted by sin because God Himself formed the body of Jesus in Mary’s womb. “Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith… a body thou hast prepared me” Hebrews 10:5
WOW! God came for US to rescue us from the penalty of our sin and rebellion against His laws and commandments. So WHY did He and does He love us? We are all in the same boat together-we are ALL sinners – “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. I do know this-that He still does LOVE US! “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (the complete satisfactory payment) for our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10. YES! YES! YES! Now that is unsurpassable, unequaled, matchless LOVE!
Have you asked the Lord Jesus into your heart and life to forgive your sins, give you His righteousness and eternal life? WHEN will you? Start the New Year off with a brand new life in Jesus Christ. It lasts for eternity – for ever and ever and ever! In Revelation 3:20 Jesus Christ knocks at your heart’s door so you will open your heart and invite Him in, “Behold I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him..” “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Rom.10:13 Trust the Lord’s promises and be saved!
