Every person has two great hopes or wishes. The first is to be loved, and the second is to love. When hurt and heartache come into our lives, many give up any hope of ever finding love .. OR .. they choose the route of recklessness and wrong things are sought in the wrong places to fill this deep need. Some substitute lust for love. Others try material things or shallow relationships–all in the vain attempt to fill the vacancy in their heart.

But God already thought of how to fill these big needs … with .. Himself … through the truth of His Word! The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”  John 3:16. On Calvary’s Cross, God’s unsurpassed love was openly proved and is offered to all who would have their deepest hopes filled by getting saved. Have you always hoped and wished that such a love would be a possibility and that it would actually be for you! Wish no longer – Here are God’s answers to it all.

Now let me ask you the most important question you’ll ever be asked: Do you know with absolute certainty, beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves you, that your sins are forgiven, and that you are saved and on your way to Heaven? If not, you can know! This is THE KEY to filling your hoping and wishing heart with God’s perfect Love. You can know! Here’s how:

Admit Your Own Sin. First, you must admit that you are a sinner. The Bible says, “There is none righteous, no, not one”  Romans 3:10. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”  Romans 3:23. We are all in the same boat. It is our sin that separates us from God and bars us from fulfilling our deepest needs. Every day- we think the wrong things, say the wrong things and do the wrong things. Sin is an offense against God that carries a serious penalty. According to Rom. 6:23, “The wages of sin is death” This is more than mere physical death; this is an eternal spiritual death – a separation forever in Hell’s Lake of Fire apart from the mercy of God.

Abandon Your Efforts. Second, you must abandon any efforts to save yourself. If we could save ourselves, Jesus’ shedding His precious blood and death would have been unnecessary! Even “getting religion” cannot get you to Heaven. All of us lack the righteousness necessary to get us into Heaven. This righteousness must be provided outside of ourselves. The Bible says it is “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His [God's] mercy He saved us”  Titus 3:5. Salvation is by God’s grace, “not of works, lest any man should boast”  Ephesians 2:8-9.

Acknowledge Jesus Christ’s Payment. What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! The sinless Jesus Christ, Almighty God come in the flesh, was the only One capable and qualified to pay the wages for your sin. “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”  Rom. 5:8. He shed His blood and died on the cross for your sins and mine. He was buried. Christ then rose from the dead to prove that He was God and His payment alone was acceptable-ratified by Heaven. AND what you do not deserve Jesus Christ has produced for you. It is Jesus Christ’s own righteousness He provides for those that come to Him alone by faith alone for salvation. But you must acknowledge and believe this fact. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”  Acts 16:31.

Accept Jesus Christ as Your Own Saviour. Salvation is God’s gift to you. Let’s Review: Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin when He shed His blood on the Cross and died for our sins. He rose from the dead and provides forgiveness, righteousness and eternal life to whosoever would believe on Him alone as their Saviour.  ”The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”   Rom. 6:23.  It is the “the gift of righteousness” Rom. 5:17. When someone offers you a priceless gift, the wisest thing you can do is accept it! “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Rom. 10:13. This very moment, you can receive Christ’s gift of salvation by sincerely calling upon the Lord Jesus in this simple prayer from your heart:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You love me more than anybody and want to save me. Lord Jesus, I believe You are Almighty God, Who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe You rose from the dead. I now turn from all my former beliefs and works and, by faith, receive You as my Saviour and Lord. Come in to my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen. Lord, now help me to live my life faithfully for You! In Jesus Name-Amen.”

“What do you believe …?.. was the question asked.” Good Question, because if we believe right (like the Bible, i.e. like God) then we know how to live right and also how to die right. . Right beliefs/right thinking brings about right living and right dying! Therefore, Here Is What We Do Believe:

God The Saviour
The Lord Jesus Christ is God – as Scripture clearly declares. Jesus Christ, the Father and the Holy Spirit are the three Persons Who constitute Jehovah God – the triune Godhead -One Almighty Faithful and True God revealed to mankind in three glorious persons-eternal in existence, and equal in every Divine perfection, essence and attribute. 1John 5:7, Isaiah 48:16-17. Creation (the universe) had this living and true God as the Creator, with the Lord Jesus Christ being the chief active Agent: Colossians 1:16-17 “For by him [Jesus] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

God’s Salvation We believe God is not willing that any human being should perish in the eternal Hell. 2 Peter 3:9, John 3:16. We believe God is love and is compassionate; AND that God is holy and is just. 1 John 4:9-10 “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (the total satisfactory payment) for our sins.” Salvation must be accepted God’s way to miss hell and go to Heaven. John 3:18, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Hence, Jesus Christ the only begotten Son, voluntarily came, as the Father gave Him, and the Holy Spirit glorified Him. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only Saviour ever for all peoples for all ages. Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” See 1 John 5;20 & Acts 4;12. Salvation is a gift that Jesus Christ Himself paid for by dying for all mankind’s sins and shedding His blood on Calvary’s Cross; by this Jesus satisfied the holy wrath and justice of God upon our sin, provided righteousness and eternal life, viz. He purchased our complete salvation. He died our death for us enduring our Hell on the Cross (the awful cost of sin); He was buried and rose from the dead on the third day. The resurrected Lord Jesus Christ then was seen by hundreds and is alive for evermore! Not only that, but He will complete His will and plan, for the universe… for – The Lord Jesus IS coming back again; and it could be at any moment. See Romans 3:23; 5:8; 6:23, 10:9,13; 1Corinthians 15, Mark 13:34-37, Revelation 1:17-18; 22:12-13, 20..

Commission
The Lord Jesus Christ has left His faithful Bible Believing Churches to carry out His Commission to preach the Gospel to every creature, here and abroad. We are to tell folks everywhere the whole message about Jesus Christ. When folks get saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, we are to then baptize (immerse) the saved and disciple them to mature Christians to do likewise, planting Churches just like the Apostles did. Matthew 28:19-20. Mark 16:15; Acts 2:41-42; 9:31 (Churches); 13:1-5; 14:21-28; 18:8, etc.

Word of God-The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the living, inerrant, infallible Word of God, God’s mind on every subject relevant to life and eternity! The Bible is God’s Words, given and kept for every generation, as He promised. We believe for those who read and speak English, the Authorized King James Version is the complete preserved Word of God. Some other Saved Christian Believers may like to express their conviction this way: “we use the King James Version because of centuries of textual continuity on which it is based.”  If by that statement they mean the LORD Kept And still is Keeping His Own Word(s) because He Keeps His Promises He has given about His Scriptures – then – OK!   1 Peter 1:25 “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” See 2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 12:6-7, Matthew 24:35, Hebrews 4;12.

Victory Baptist Church of Langley was 23 years old the first Sunday in October 2011. We have been “Loving People with the Truth of the Lord Jesus Christ” all these years in our own community and all over the planet through our faithful Gospel Preaching Missionaries.

If you personally cannot say with absolute certainty that you know for sure that when you die you’ll go to Heaven – then please read on and find out how and respond to God’s sure provision and Bible promises on this most important matter!

The Sure Way, God’s Way, The Bible To Heaven

Know first- God Loves You. The Bible says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Second-Everyone of us is a sinner.
Romans 3:10, 23 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one… For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Weʼre all in the same boat; none of us is perfect. Weʼve all broken Godʼs laws sinning many times. None of us has the righteousness needed to get into Heaven.

Third- Sin has a price that must be paid.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The price is death, not just a physical death, but an eternal death; it is separation from God forever in Hell.

Fourth- Jesus died on Calvary’s Cross to pay the full price for our sin.
Jesus Christ is Almighty God. He is not just a mere man who did good things. He is the Creator of all things! He came to earth and was born to take on a manʼs body and live a sinless life. This He did so He could go to the Cross. Romans 5:8 & 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us …died for our sins…was buried.. he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” The Lord Jesus was then seen by 100ʼs of witnesses and is alive for evermore. Christ paid the total price for our sin and conquered Hell, Sin and Death for us! Jesus Christ produced a salvation for us that brings us His Righteousness and Eternal Life as the Gift of God. Jesus Christ IS God the Fatherʼs Gift prepared and offered freely to us!

Now-Believing the above truths-Receive Christ as Saviour! Hereʼs how:
Turn from all of your works, self efforts and former beliefs that you thought would help you get to God.    Admit to the Lord Jesus Christ that you are sinful, helpless and hopeless and that He alone is the only Saviour!    Agree with God you donʼt deserve Heaven but Hell instead.

Then, BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus as your own personal Saviour. Tell Him that you believe ONLY HE can save you because He only died for your sin and rose from the dead.   Call upon the Lord Jesus to forgive your sin and invite Him to come into your heart and save you!
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Once a person repents and believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the absolute only hope of salvation from their sin and sin’s awful penalty-the Bible calls that person – SAVED ! Born Again ! Regenerated ! a Child of God ! a Joint Heir with Jesus Christ ! in other words, a genuine Christian.

After this permanent, unbreakable, irreversible relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ has been established and kept forever by God Himself, there is still the everyday living and walk with God that needs to be nurtured and enjoyed while still on earth.

The Lord had His plan already in place for the Saved Believer to cause this growth and development. We just need to follow HIS plan.

Of course there is Church membership and attendance for the immersed Believer. Hebrews 10:25 commands, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” There are Prayer commands, like in I Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing”. This means never quit praying to Jesus Christ nor ever break off from praying!  Be faithful and consistent.

Of course there are the commands to witness, i.e. tell the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others who need to be saved for God is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:15. Mark 16:15 commands, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Now Jesus Christ did say in John 14:15 to His saved people, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Now notice what Christ said in John 8:31-32, “…If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Here is our most important thought and vital lesson: your ongoing relationship with the Scriptures (God’s Words) will determine the quality, strength, peace and joy of your walk with the LORD !!    God’s Truth sets you free to live the high quality life Jesus intends for you to live and with the necessary Spiritual power to live it.  You’ll be able to love the Lord  as you should and love others too.

George Muller testified to this, “The vigor of our Spiritual Life will be in exact proportion to the place held by the Bible in our life and thoughts. I solemnly state this from experience of fifty-four years.  The first three years after conversion I neglected the Word of God. Since I began to search it diligently the blessing has been wonderful. I have read the Bible through one hundred times, and always with increasing delight. Each time it seems like a new book to me. Great has been the blessing from consecutive, diligent, daily study. I look upon it as a lost day when I have not had a good time over the Word of God.”

What about you? The daily priority of feasting on the Scriptures brings the whole life into the balance and focus of which Romans 14:17 speaks, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

Let’s consider CANADA’S heritage.
One hundred and forty four years ago the Dominion of Canada came into existence. The term dominion means “sovereign or supreme authority; the power of controlling in a self-governing nation.” As the Fathers of Confederation met in 1867, a name for its new nation needed to be chosen. It was suggested to call our country the “Kingdom of Canada”; but this did not seem suitable.

Sir Leonard Tilley, Premiere of New Brunswick, proposed “Dominion of Canada”. This idea had come as he had been studying his Bible with Psalm 72:8 standing out, “He shall have dominion also from sea to sea…”.

From the very beginning, God Almighty was understood to be our Ruler Supreme; the One Who would keep our land glorious and free. Even the preamble of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which was passed in 1981, states, “Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law…”.    These rights would guarantee freedom OF religion NOT freedom FROM religion, freedom to vote, etc.

Today, there are those who want to remove the true God from His rightful place as the God over us. They want to have a secular society. Secularism is indifferent to, or completely rejects God and religion in public life. It teaches that life without God is normal. Others promote pluralism, which teaches that there are many true beliefs and that all religions have validity. They state that we “cannot impose Christian beliefs upon society.” In effect pluralists give validity to every religion it seems, except for Bible Christianity that rests upon Jesus Christ as Creator and the only Saviour.

As the LORD’S saved people, let us not be swayed by these atheistic/humanistic philosophies. Remember God’s promise to us: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD”. Psalm 33:12 Only as long as God has dominion over us will we be a land that is “glorious and free.”

Personally, on an individual basis, one can be made glorious and free through the salvation purchased by Jesus Christ for us when He died on Calvary’s Cross for our sins. When Christ shed His blood on that cruel cross it paid the penalty & debt of our sin for us. Jesus was then buried and rose from the dead the third day, the victor over death and hell for us.. He was seen by hundreds and is alive for evermore. If you would believe on the Lord Jesus as your own personal Saviour you would have your sins forgiven, be given the gift of righteousness & eternal life; and a home in Heaven for when you die. John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:36 “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Romans 8:21 “Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.” Galatians 3:26 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

” … Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death…” Mark 7:10 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” Ephesians 6:1-3

God has great blessing for those who as children obey their own parents and continued great blessing for those who HONOUR their father and their mother throughout their lives.

After one has left home, one may be out of response to the commands of parents but one is never to be out of the reach of the wise counsel of the father and mother. Learn from their Godly counsel their whole lives; it will save you much heartache and likely a bunch of money too!

Some FRIEND Truths from the Bible:
Proverbs 17:17  “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
Provs 18:24 “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Prov 27:17  “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

FRIENDS ???    Two men were out hunting in the north, when suddenly one yelled to the other, “Grizzly”. He looked up to see a grizzly bear charging them.  The first man started to frantically put on his runners and his buddy anxiously asked, “What are you doing?  Don’t you know you can’t out run a grizzly?”  He quickly replied, “I don’t have to outrun the grizzly; I just have to outrun you!”

A British publication once offered a prize for the best definition of a friend. Among the thousands of answers received were the following: 
”One who multiplies joy and divides grief.”    
”One who understands our silence.”     
”A volume of sympathy bound in cloth.”      
”A watch that beats true for all time and never runs down.” 
    The winning definition read: “A friend is the one who comes in when the whole world has gone out.”
Prosperity begets friends, adversity proves them.      A small boy defined a friend as “Someone who knows all about you and likes you anyway.”    In a survey of more than 40,000 North Americans, it was these qualities were  most valued in a friend:         1. The ability to keep confidences      2. Loyalty     3. Warmth and affection.

One of the choruses in our Church’s Gospel Song and Hymn Book is “CHRIST IS ALL I NEED”. It is a good one to be sung Resurrection Day (Sunday) in Church or anytime and anywhere.

Christ is all I Need, Christ Is all I Need,
All, all I Need.
Christ is all I Need, Christ Is all I Need,
All, all I Need.

He was crucified, For me He died,
On Calvary.
That’s why I know, He Loves me so,
He’s All I Need

Christ rose again, For me He Lives,
For evermore.
He’s Coming back, Just like He said,
He’s all I need.

Also – “THIS IS THE DAY WHICH THE LORD HATH MADE”

This is actual Scripture found in Psalm 118:24. Read 118:22-24 together to understand the context.  “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.  This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

It is so appropriate for Easter (Resurrection) time because it is Predictive Prophecy given about a 1,000 years before its 100% accurate fulfillment when Jesus Christ was willingly crucified on Calvary’s Cross, shedding His blood dying for our sins. He was buried and then rose from the dead on the third day; He was seen by 100′s of witnesses and IS ALIVE TODAY and for evermore.

The apostle Peter actually preached from this very passage.  It’s recorded in the Book of Acts 4: 10, 11, 12. “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.    Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

He verifies that The Day The LORD Hath Made IS The death, burial and in particular the Resurrection of the Only true Messiah and Only Saviour ever – The LORD Jesus Christ !

This is The Day, This is The Day

Which the LORD hath made.

We will rejoice, We will rejoice
And be glad in it,
And be glad in it.

O, This is The Day
Which the LORD hath made,
We will rejoice

The Bodily RESURRECTION of the Lord Jesus Christ IS something to rejoice about for now and for eternity!           Among other facts, this proves Jesus Christ’s Words, His full Deity and His marvellous LOVE  for mankind !!!

The Bible speaks of no other Resurrection of the Son of God from the grave than a real, true, literal, Resurrection of the Lord’s Body!  In John 2:18-22, Jesus spoke these Words in answer to the challenge of His authority at the temple, as it was His Father’s House and this at the very beginning of His public active ministry,  “Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.”

“..Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.  He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead..” Mt.28:5-7

“I declare unto you the gospel…  how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures … he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once..” 1Cor.15:1, 3-6.

“..Fear not; I am the first and the last (Jehovah):  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death”. Rev.1:17-18

Jesus fully paid for all our sins & defeated Hell for us!

The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ: verified Him as truly God and that men were the liars and blasphemers; ratified the Scriptures and Words of Jesus as 100% true; therefore, there is no other way to be 100% saved except through Jesus.

Jesus IS the Only One Who left Heaven & came to this earth through a miraculous virgin birth & lived a totally sinless life.  He is the only One Who shed His blood & died on the Cross paying for your sins & mine. He was buried & then rose from the dead. The resurrected Jesus was seen by 100’s of witnesses & is alive for evermore.   This proves that He is truly God & that He truly loves us.

Salvation is given to any one who comes to Jesus Christ just as they are, i.e.  a hopeless sinner needing a Saviour.  The sinner must come to Jesus Christ believing on Him, as the living victorious Lord and Saviour,  Who as both Jehovah God & sinless man, fought our fight & won it, accepted our debt as His own & paid it, took our sins & died under them & rose again to set us free. This is the true God & Saviour Jesus Christ …. & nothing less will do!
