Saved Person Should = Good Person
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
The Unsaved world gets confused when some one claims to be “Saved” and then that someone doesn’t seem to live like the Bible says. Now, to be equitable, we must take into account that many unsaved folk have a warped idea of the Bible, the God of the Bible, salvation and of what a genuine Saved Christian is. Also, the very young Believer (Saved person) may still be a “baby”, viz. recently Born again into the Family of God and needs to grow in the things of the Lord. And of course there are rebellious Believers who still allow the “old nature” to dominate their life so that in many ways they still have characteristics and habits of which they should of had victory over long ago.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure…. walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called..” Philippians 2:13, Ephesians 4:1. Hence, in the desire of God and the path of grace, righteousness, and love they should be living a good and Godly life. And if there is any place this is tested and tried and seen is in the Saved Christian’s home-life. A good, Godly Christian should be a good Mother or Father. A good Godly Christian should be a good Husband or Wife. A.W. Tozer speaks of a major component of this home life in the following:
Christian Couples – Heirs together of the grace of life
“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” 1 Peter 3:7
The Scriptures teach that the Christian husband and wife are heirs together of the grace of life – that they are one in Jesus Christ, their Saviour! I suppose there are many Christian husbands whose prayers are not answered and they can think up a lot of reasons. But the fact is that thoughtless husbands are simply big, overbearing clods when it comes to the consideration of their wives.
If the husband would get himself straightened out in his own mind and spirit and live with his wife according to knowledge, and treat her with the chivalry that belongs to her as the weaker vessel, remembering that she actually is a sister in Christ, his prayers would be answered in spite of the devil and all the other reasons he gives. A husband’s spiritual problems do not lie in the Kremlin nor in the Vatican but in the heart of the man himself – in his attitude and inability to resist the temptation to grumble and growl and dominate!
There is no place for that kind of male ruler-ship in any Christian home. What the Bible calls for is proper and kindly recognition of the true relationships of understanding and love, and the acceptance of a spirit of cooperation between the husband and the wife. – A.W. Tozer

LOVE MUST LEAVE WHEN RESENTMENT MOVES IN
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
The following article by A.W.Tozer describes the way of Jesus Christ as opposed to the way the world describes how a person ought to live. Wow, what a contrast to the “I want it now” and “Me-first, no matter who gets hurt” and “Get all you can! Can all you get! Then sit on the can!” generation.
Colossians 3.13 “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”
I do not believe that a spirit of resentment can dwell in a loving heart. ..I have heard many times people say, “I resent that!” But I have never heard those words used by any man or woman living in conscious Christian victory. Before resentment can enter, love must take its flight and bitterness take over. The bitter soul will compile a list of slights at which it takes offense and will watch over itself like a mother bear over her cubs.
Few sights are more depressing than that of a professed Christian defending his supposed rights and bitterly resisting any attempt to violate them. Such a Christian has never accepted the way of the Cross. The sweet graces of meekness and humility are unknown to him.
The only cure for this sort of thing is to die to self and rise with Christ into newness of life. The man who sets the will of God as his goal will reach that goal, not by self-defense, but by self abnegation. Then no matter what sort of treatment he receives from his fellow men he will be altogether at peace.
The will of God had been done-whether by curses or compliment he cares not, for he seeks not one or the other but only to do the will of God at any cost! If there be some who take pleasure in holding him down, he is still content within himself, and will not resent them, for he seeks not advancement but the will of God. - A.W. Tozer
2 Timothy 2:23-26 “But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

Why We Believe JESUS CHRIST ROSE from the dead
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
If Jesus did not rise from the dead, the Christian faith is a foolish fantasy. However, if the resurrection of Christ did occur, it confirms His life, message, and atoning work. It is the basis of true Christian’s hope of life beyond the grave. Our Saviour is alive, and the evidence is overwhelming. Here are some of the reasons we can be so sure.
1) Jesus predicted His resurrection-Mat16:21; Mrk9:9,10; Jn2:18-22.
2)The OT prophesied it-Psalm 16:10; cf Acts 2:25-31; 13:33-37
3)The tomb was empty and the grave clothes vacant. If those who opposed Christ wished to silence His disciples, all they had to do was produce a body, but they could not-John 20:3-9
4) Hundreds saw the resurrected Christ-looked on His face, touched Him, heard His voice, and saw Him eat- Matt. 28:16-20; Luke 24:13-39; John 20:11-29; John 21:1-9; Acts 1:6-11; 1 Cor. 15:3-8
5) The lives of the disciples were revolutionized. Though they fled and even denied Jesus at the time of His arrest, they later feared no one in their proclamation of the risen Christ-Matt 26:56, 69-75; The Entire Book of Acts
6) The resurrection was the central message of the early Churches. Christianity grew with an unwavering conviction that Jesus had risen and was both Lord and Christ-Acts 2:36; 4:33; 5:30-32; Rom.5:24
7) Men and women today testify that the power of the risen Christ has transformed their lives. We know that Jesus is alive not only because of the historical and Biblical evidence but also because He has miraculously changed our lives for now and eternity.
The Risen-Ascended Lord Jesus Christ said in Revelation 1:17c-18:
“.. Fear not; I am the first and the last (Jesus Jehovah Christ=the Eternal Word)
I am he that liveth (His Incarnation & Sinless Life on earth),
and was dead (He was crucified-He bled & died for our sins and was buried)
and, behold, I am alive for evermore (Resurrected-Ascended & Returning Lord, Saviour & King),
Amen … ”

In the beginning was the Word..and the Word was God. John 1:1
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
None of us can approach a consideration of the eternal nature and Person of Jesus Christ without sensing and confessing our human inadequacy in the face of the divine revelation.
John, in his Gospel, provides a beautiful portrait of the eternal Word (Jesus Christ), starting with those stark amazing Words: “In the beginning!” My brethren, that is where we start with the understanding and revelation of Christianity!
Many others have made a variety of claims, but only our Jesus Christ is the Christ of God. Certainly it wasn’t Buddha and not Mohammed, not Joseph Smith, not Mrs. Eddy and not Father Divine! All of these and countless others like them had beginnings– but they all had their endings too.
What an unsurpassable difference! Our Christian life commences with the eternal Son of God. This is our Lord Jesus Christ: the Word Who was with the Father in the beginning; the Word Who was God; the Word Who is God! This is the only One Who can assure us: “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 ~A.W. Tozer
“.. Fear not; I am the first and the last (Jesus Jehovah Christ-the Eternal Word): I am he that liveth (His Incarnation and Sinless Life), and was dead (Crucified-bled & died for our sins-was buried); and, behold, I am alive for evermore (Resurrected-Ascended & Coming back), Amen..” Revelation 1:17c-18

WHOSOEVER WILL means WHOSOEVER WILL
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
The apostle John, by the inspiration of the LORD, the Author of the Bible, penned these Words to the Saved members of the Bible Believing Christian Churches in the Roman Province of Asia, c. 90 A.D.
1 John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (the complete & only satisfactory payment) for our sins.”
1 John 2:1c-2 “… Jesus Christ the righteous …. he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours (those already saved) only, but also for the sins of the whole world (all those that had been born and those that would ever be born) .”
Dr. Harry Ironside- “Turn to your Bible and read for yourself in the only two chapters in which this word ‘predestinate’ or ‘predestinated’ is found. First is Romans 8:29-30; the other is Ephesians 1:5, 11. You will note that there is no reference in these four verses to either Heaven or Hell but to Christ-likeness eventually. Nowhere are we told in Scripture that God predestinated one man to be saved and another to be lost. Men are saved or lost eternally because of their attitude towards the Lord Jesus. Predestination means that someday all the redeemed shall become just like the Lord Jesus.”
Evangelist D.L.Moody stated this Biblical truth simply and clearly, “The ‘elect’ are the ‘whosoever wills’ the non-elect are the ‘whosoever wont’s’ This is exactly what Scripture teaches; the invitation is to all, those who accept it are the elect. Remember, we are never told that Christ died for the elect. Whosoever means, ‘whosoever’. Only a biased theologian, with an axe to grind, could ever think it meant only the elect.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”
Why not trust Jesus Christ alone as your Saviour and become one of the elect?
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

JESUS SAVES FOR ETERNITY & SALVAGES LIVES FOR NOW
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
This great well-known poem gives some description of what the True Master and Saviour Jesus Christ does for any soul that comes to Him for Salvation. He does a work for Eternity, but also for Time.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
The Touch of the Master’s Hand
“Twas battered and scarred and the auctioneer
Thought it scarcely worth his while
To waste much time on the old violin;
But he held it up with a smile.
“Three dollars once, three dollars twice,
Going for three” .. but no!
From the room far back a gray-haired man
Came forward and picked up the bow.
Then wiping the dust from the old violin
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody pure and sweet,
As sweet as an angel sings.
The music ceased, and the auctioneer, With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said, “What is the bid for the old violin?”
As he held it up with the bow.
“A thousand dollars … and who’ll make it two?
Two .. two thousand, and who’ll make it three?
Three thousand once and three thousand twice …
Three thousand and gone!” said he.
The people cheered, but some exclaimed,
“We do not quite understand…
What changed its worth?” and the answer came:
“ ‘Twas the touch of the master’s hand.”
And many a man with soul out of tune
And battered and scarred by sin
Is auctioned cheap by the thoughtless crowd
Just like the old violin.
But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd
Never can quite understand
The worth of a soul, and the change that is wrought By the touch of the Master’s Hand!

REACH ~ TEACH ~ PREACH
Mark 16:15 “And he [the Lord Jesus Christ] said
unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Our Missionary Church-Planters, Rick Lendvoy of Williams Lake, and Adonis Malazo to Mountain Province, Philippines did a faithful job of preaching the Word
of God to us on January 6-8.
Some memorable quotes are:
“Jesus Christ Is the Source of the whole Idea of Missions and He Is THE Authority for Missions. To neglect missions is to deny Christ’s Authority.”
“The Missions Conference is the True Business meeting of the Church.”
“God’s desire is for all men to be saved … He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
“Through God’s Power, He uses the ordinary to do the extraordinary.”

Christmas Or Anytime – Heart Hopes & Wishes
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
Every person has two great hopes or wishes. The first is to be loved, and the second is to love. When hurt and heartache come into our lives, many give up any hope of ever finding love .. OR .. they choose the route of recklessness and wrong things are sought in the wrong places to fill this deep need. Some substitute lust for love. Others try material things or shallow relationships–all in the vain attempt to fill the vacancy in their heart.
But God already thought of how to fill these big needs … with .. Himself … through the truth of His Word! The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16. On Calvary’s Cross, God’s unsurpassed love was openly proved and is offered to all who would have their deepest hopes filled by getting saved. Have you always hoped and wished that such a love would be a possibility and that it would actually be for you! Wish no longer – Here are God’s answers to it all.
Now let me ask you the most important question you’ll ever be asked: Do you know with absolute certainty, beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves you, that your sins are forgiven, and that you are saved and on your way to Heaven? If not, you can know! This is THE KEY to filling your hoping and wishing heart with God’s perfect Love. You can know! Here’s how:
Admit Your Own Sin. First, you must admit that you are a sinner. The Bible says, “There is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:10. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. We are all in the same boat. It is our sin that separates us from God and bars us from fulfilling our deepest needs. Every day- we think the wrong things, say the wrong things and do the wrong things. Sin is an offense against God that carries a serious penalty. According to Rom. 6:23, “The wages of sin is death” This is more than mere physical death; this is an eternal spiritual death – a separation forever in Hell’s Lake of Fire apart from the mercy of God.
Abandon Your Efforts. Second, you must abandon any efforts to save yourself. If we could save ourselves, Jesus’ shedding His precious blood and death would have been unnecessary! Even “getting religion” cannot get you to Heaven. All of us lack the righteousness necessary to get us into Heaven. This righteousness must be provided outside of ourselves. The Bible says it is “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His [God's] mercy He saved us” Titus 3:5. Salvation is by God’s grace, “not of works, lest any man should boast” Ephesians 2:8-9.
Acknowledge Jesus Christ’s Payment. What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! The sinless Jesus Christ, Almighty God come in the flesh, was the only One capable and qualified to pay the wages for your sin. “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Rom. 5:8. He shed His blood and died on the cross for your sins and mine. He was buried. Christ then rose from the dead to prove that He was God and His payment alone was acceptable-ratified by Heaven. AND what you do not deserve Jesus Christ has produced for you. It is Jesus Christ’s own righteousness He provides for those that come to Him alone by faith alone for salvation. But you must acknowledge and believe this fact. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” Acts 16:31.
Accept Jesus Christ as Your Own Saviour. Salvation is God’s gift to you. Let’s Review: Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin when He shed His blood on the Cross and died for our sins. He rose from the dead and provides forgiveness, righteousness and eternal life to whosoever would believe on Him alone as their Saviour. ”The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Rom. 6:23. It is the “the gift of righteousness” Rom. 5:17. When someone offers you a priceless gift, the wisest thing you can do is accept it! “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Rom. 10:13. This very moment, you can receive Christ’s gift of salvation by sincerely calling upon the Lord Jesus in this simple prayer from your heart:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You love me more than anybody and want to save me. Lord Jesus, I believe You are Almighty God, Who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe You rose from the dead. I now turn from all my former beliefs and works and, by faith, receive You as my Saviour and Lord. Come in to my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen. Lord, now help me to live my life faithfully for You! In Jesus Name-Amen.”
If you have honestly called upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save you once and for all just now, email us and let us know. We would love to give you some more of God’s Word and helpful materials to keep you going strong in the Lord’s will.

What VBC Believes
Published by admin, under Uncategorized. No Comments.
“What do you believe …?.. was the question asked.” Good Question, because if we believe right (like the Bible, i.e. like God) then we know how to live right and also how to die right. . Right beliefs/right thinking brings about right living and right dying! Therefore, Here Is What We Do Believe:
God The Saviour
The Lord Jesus Christ is God – as Scripture clearly declares. Jesus Christ, the Father and the Holy Spirit are the three Persons Who constitute Jehovah God – the triune Godhead -One Almighty Faithful and True God revealed to mankind in three glorious persons-eternal in existence, and equal in every Divine perfection, essence and attribute. 1John 5:7, Isaiah 48:16-17. Creation (the universe) had this living and true God as the Creator, with the Lord Jesus Christ being the chief active Agent: Colossians 1:16-17 “For by him [Jesus] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
God’s Salvation We believe God is not willing that any human being should perish in the eternal Hell. 2 Peter 3:9, John 3:16. We believe God is love and is compassionate; AND that God is holy and is just. 1 John 4:9-10 “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (the total satisfactory payment) for our sins.” Salvation must be accepted God’s way to miss hell and go to Heaven. John 3:18, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Hence, Jesus Christ the only begotten Son, voluntarily came, as the Father gave Him, and the Holy Spirit glorified Him. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only Saviour ever for all peoples for all ages. Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” See 1 John 5;20 & Acts 4;12. Salvation is a gift that Jesus Christ Himself paid for by dying for all mankind’s sins and shedding His blood on Calvary’s Cross; by this Jesus satisfied the holy wrath and justice of God upon our sin, provided righteousness and eternal life, viz. He purchased our complete salvation. He died our death for us enduring our Hell on the Cross (the awful cost of sin); He was buried and rose from the dead on the third day. The resurrected Lord Jesus Christ then was seen by hundreds and is alive for evermore! Not only that, but He will complete His will and plan, for the universe… for – The Lord Jesus IS coming back again; and it could be at any moment. See Romans 3:23; 5:8; 6:23, 10:9,13; 1Corinthians 15, Mark 13:34-37, Revelation 1:17-18; 22:12-13, 20..
Commission
The Lord Jesus Christ has left His faithful Bible Believing Churches to carry out His Commission to preach the Gospel to every creature, here and abroad. We are to tell folks everywhere the whole message about Jesus Christ. When folks get saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, we are to then baptize (immerse) the saved and disciple them to mature Christians to do likewise, planting Churches just like the Apostles did. Matthew 28:19-20. Mark 16:15; Acts 2:41-42; 9:31 (Churches); 13:1-5; 14:21-28; 18:8, etc.
Word of God-The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the living, inerrant, infallible Word of God, God’s mind on every subject relevant to life and eternity! The Bible is God’s Words, given and kept for every generation, as He promised. We believe for those who read and speak English, the Authorized King James Version is the complete preserved Word of God. Some other Saved Christian Believers may like to express their conviction this way: “we use the King James Version because of centuries of textual continuity on which it is based.” If by that statement they mean the LORD Kept And still is Keeping His Own Word(s) because He Keeps His Promises He has given about His Scriptures – then – OK! 1 Peter 1:25 “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” See 2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 12:6-7, Matthew 24:35, Hebrews 4;12.
This is not exhaustive but likely it’s enough to give you the heart of what we believe and for Whom we live! -Pastor Spence
